These terms cover your use of this website and any coaching, programmes or resources you get from Back To Life Club. Please read them before you book or buy anything. If you have a question, email [email protected].
1. Who we are
Back To Life Club is run by Ross Thornton, based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, UK. In these terms, "I", "me" and "Back To Life Club" mean the business, and "you" means you.
2. Coaching, not medical treatment
Back To Life Club provides coaching, exercise programming and education for people with back pain. It is not a medical service. I don't diagnose conditions, prescribe medication or replace your GP, physiotherapist or other healthcare professional.
If you have new numbness around your groin or bottom, changes in bladder or bowel control, rapidly worsening leg weakness, unexplained weight loss, fever with back pain, or pain after a significant fall or accident, seek urgent medical help (call 999 or go to A&E). For other health concerns, contact your GP or NHS 111.
3. Before you start
- Before coaching begins, you'll complete a health questionnaire. Please answer it fully and honestly, and tell me promptly if anything changes, such as a new injury, diagnosis, medication or pregnancy.
- If your answers suggest you should get medical advice first, I may ask you to see your GP before we start or continue.
- If I don't think coaching is right for you, I'll tell you and won't take payment for it.
4. Your part
Coaching works when we work together. You agree to follow the programme within your own limits, stop and tell me if something doesn't feel right, and let me know about any change in your health. Results depend on many things, including what you do between sessions, so I can't guarantee a particular outcome.
4A. The Back To Life Promise
If you join my monthly coaching and do the work for your first 12 weeks, but don't feel more confident and capable in the activities that matter to you, I'll keep coaching you free until you do. This is a commitment to keep coaching you, not a promise of a particular result. Here's exactly how it works.
- Who it's for. New monthly coaching clients who start on or after 8 October 2026.
- Your three activities. At your assessment you choose three everyday activities your back is affecting and score each from 0 (can't do it) to 10 (can do it as well as before). We score them again at week 12.
- What you need to do. Stay an active, paying client for 12 weeks in a row from your start date; log at least 80% of your scheduled sessions in the app; and complete every weekly check-in. Weeks we agree to pause in advance (for example illness or holiday) don't count against you, and the 12 weeks are extended to match.
- When it applies. If you've met those conditions and, at week 12, your scores for your three activities haven't improved, or you tell me you don't feel more confident and capable in them, you can claim the Promise.
- How to claim. Email [email protected] within 14 days of your week-12 review.
- What you get. Your coaching continues at no charge, with the same service, until your scores improve or you tell me you feel more confident and capable. To keep it going, you'll need to keep logging at least 80% of your sessions and completing your weekly check-ins. You can stop the free coaching at any time.
- What it isn't. The Promise is extra coaching, not a cash refund, and it isn't a guarantee of a particular medical or physical outcome. It doesn't affect your 14-day right to cancel (section 7) or your other legal rights.
5. Free calls
The free 30-minute call is a no-obligation conversation to see whether I can help. It isn't an assessment or medical advice, and you're under no pressure to buy anything.
6. Prices and payment
- Prices are as shown at the time you buy, or as agreed with you in writing before you start.
- Payment is taken in advance through my payment provider.
- For ongoing memberships or monthly coaching, payments continue until you cancel. You can cancel at any time by emailing me before your next payment date. Cancellation stops future payments; it doesn't refund the current period.
7. Your right to cancel
If you buy coaching online or by phone, UK consumer law gives you 14 days from the date you buy to change your mind and get a refund.
- If you ask me to start coaching within those 14 days and then cancel, I'll refund you minus a fair amount for the sessions or coaching already provided.
- For digital products such as online courses, you agree when you buy that you'll get immediate access, and that you lose the 14-day cancellation right once access has started.
To cancel, email [email protected]. This doesn't affect your other legal rights, including if something I provide isn't as described.
8. Booking, rescheduling and missed sessions
- If you need to move a session, please give at least 24 hours' notice and I'll rebook you.
- Sessions missed without 24 hours' notice may count as used.
- If I need to cancel, I'll give you as much notice as I can and rebook you at no cost.
9. Online coaching app
Client programmes and check-ins are delivered through a third-party app (Trainerize). Your use of the app is also covered by that provider's own terms. Your access ends when your coaching ends.
10. My content
The guides, programmes, videos, emails and other materials I provide are for your personal use only. Please don't copy, share, sell or publish them without my written permission.
11. Using this website
The information on this website and in my free resources is general education, not personal advice. I try to keep it accurate and up to date, but I can't promise it's complete or right for your situation. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; I'm not responsible for their content.
12. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by my negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't legally be limited.
- Otherwise, I'm not responsible for loss or injury that results from not following the programme as advised, exercising beyond the guidance given, or not telling me about relevant health information.
- My total liability to you for anything else connected with the coaching won't be more than the amount you've paid me for it.
13. Your information
How I collect and use your personal information is explained in my Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies is the one in place when you bought your coaching or product. The date at the top shows the latest version.
15. Complaints and the law
If you're unhappy with anything, please email me first and I'll do my best to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
